Bike Tours

The interest in visiting the world's most bicycle-friendly cities has been vibrant for a couple of decades, and many different groups from around the world make the trip to see it for themselves. Since 2011, Copenhagenize has welcomed over 3,000 planners, engineers, city officials and academics in Copenhagen, offering them a comprehensive look at bicycle planning and infrastructure. Now, we are thrilled to expand this opportunity to one of the world’s rapidly transforming capitals: Paris!

Take on Paris by bike to experience first-hand how the city is swiftly changing its modal share and urban landscape. Our standard Paris tour is two to three hours pedaling through the city’s 300 km of protected bike lanes. We’ll explore streets in the heart of Paris and learn the influences behind their design, from Baron Haussman to Mayor Anne Hidalgo. Learn about the cultural and historical events that led to the recent and remarkable transformations. We’ll discuss the policies and design decisions that Paris is using to quickly become more bicycle-friendly so you can take the lessons home to your city.

Our standard tour in Copenhagen covers two to three hours of cycling in the city, depending on group size and specific requests. We visit a number of bicycle urbanism highlights on the tour in the City of Copenhagen: bicycle and pedestrian bridges over the harbor, bicycle infrastructure designed for different road contexts, micro-design innovations such as the bicycle footrest. We will also discuss the inner-workings of a mainstream bicycle culture, safety and other important factors. The experience is of course peppered with entertaining anecdotes and historical references about the development of one of the most bicycle-friendly cities.

More Details

Due to availability, we only offer tours for groups. The tours are all (not surprisingly) done on bicycle, rain or shine. Participants are responsible for providing their own bicycles and are expected to already know how to ride a bicycle. Copenhagenize is not liable for any incidents on the road.
